The Doctors Behind Awayward
Every consultation on Awayward is delivered by an independent, locally licensed, English-speaking physician — vetted before they ever join the network.
How we vet our doctors
Awayward is a technology platform. We do not employ physicians or practice medicine ourselves — all clinical care is delivered by independent, third-party healthcare professionals who join our network. Before a provider can treat a patient through Awayward, we confirm that they:
- Hold current, valid medical licensure appropriate to the market and jurisdiction in which they treat patients.
- Are fluent, English-speaking clinicians.
- Maintain their own clinical oversight and are responsible for their own professional judgment, diagnosis, and treatment decisions.
- Coordinate care locally where in-person follow-up or referral is needed.
Important medical disclaimers
Platform-only service; no medical advice from Awayward. Awayward is a technology platform vendor. Awayward does not practice medicine, does not employ healthcare providers, and does not provide medical care, diagnosis, treatment, advice, or opinion. All clinical services are provided by independent, third-party healthcare professionals licensed to practice in the country in which you are then located (each, a “Provider”).
Not for emergencies. The Platform is not for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency or a life-threatening condition, do not use the Platform — contact local emergency services. Awayward and the Providers are not equipped to deliver emergency or urgent on-site care, and reliance on the Platform in an emergency may result in death, serious injury, or worsening of a medical condition.
Not a substitute for in-person care. Video consultations are not a substitute for an ongoing relationship with a local healthcare provider or for in-person examination where one is clinically required. Any AI-assisted tools are provided for general informational and navigational purposes only, do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and should not be relied upon in making any health decision.
